Exhibiting artist Kianja Strobert will be joined by Jessica N. Bell to discuss her works on view in Of This Day in Time as they relate to broader discourse on abstraction. Kianja Strobert: Of This Day in Time, the artist's first solo museum exhibition in New York, brings together a selection of paintings and drawings made over the last five years, that translate the world into energetic planes of color, rendered in thick but refined brushstrokes that keep the eye in constant motion. As part of this conversation, Strobert and Bell will also explore lesser known aspects of Strobert's practice, from her small drawings to her use of animation. Before this presentation, Strobert and Bell will lead an in-depth tour of the exhibition, providing a unique opportunity for public dialogue in the galleries.
